This course from the Independent Theatre Council (ITC) will equip participants with the strategy, skills and confidence in communicating the commercial benefits to potential investors while staying aligned to their organisation’s artistic values.

By the end of the seminar, participants will be able to:
• identify what their organisation has that business wants;
• articulate the main selling points of their organisation to investors;
• make their own luck;
• understand the Social Investment Marketplace;
• understanding the sales process;
• define a vision of their organisation operating without the need for funding.

Get Legal - training in your region - posted 15.7.2010 Get Legal - training in your region

Last week we featured a news item about Get Legal, a new online tool to help organisations find the right legal and governance structures. NVCO is also offering free training around the England for advisors who support individuals and organisations around governance and legal structures.

For many individuals and groups wanting to establish a new organisation one of the biggest challenges is deciding on the legal form and governance structure of the organisation. Choices are often based on dominant legal forms or preconceptions rather than well informed consideration of a range of structures. Problems can also arise if organisations want to change their legal structures or governing documents. The Get Legal training is designed to help development workers and advisors help organisations to overcome these challenges.

London 2012’s short film competition for young people between the ages of 13 and 25 is now open for entries. To view films, find a favourite, and upload your film to share with your friends go to www.filmnation.org.uk. Information on the first London 2012 workshops for you to learn to make your own short film is also available.

In 2012 the best films from the two year programme will win the chance to be shown in iconic sporting venues during the Games in 2012 as well as at high profile screenings around the country.
