`The Wild Hunt and The Sleepwalker - A Nocturnal Ballad` will open ABSOLUT Fringe 2010 in spectacular fashion. In one of Dublin's most astounding and historic locations, The National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks, this outdoor event will involve more than 100 performers and thousands of spectators. After a twelve year absence, Macnas return to Dublin for this epic visual feast.

Macnas rely on community participation for all their events; from performers to stage managers, everyone is a volunteer.
ABSOLUT Fringe and Macnas are looking for experienced practitioners in the event arena to fill stage manager, stewarding and performance roles. Commitment levels will vary depending on your availability and skill.
Dates and Times:
Friday 10th September / 5PM - 9PM (rehearsal) & Saturday 11th September / 5PM - 10PM (performance)
Who we need and the skills you'll have:
- Stage Managers and Stewards: Communication and team management skills, very good initiative
- Fire Stewards: Basic knowledge of emergency procedures, excellent communication skills, very good initiative
- Performers: Very minimal performance or stage experience is required, but you must be able to follow directions and be enthusiastic in all weather conditions!
- Float Operators: General interest in performance, eager to be involved

Dublin Contemporary 2011, Ireland’s major platform for contemporary art taking place in Dublin in the Autumn of 2011, is looking for a Project Administrator for a fixed term contract. The right person will be working with the core team to support the effective delivery of the project, the smooth running of the Dublin Contemporary office and assist with project administration requirements.
As well as providing excellent administrative support to the office with superior computer and organisational skills, the project administrator will be required to perform reception and office management duties alongside their administrative role. The successful candidate will be highly organised with a demonstrated ability to work effectively to dead line. A working interest in visual arts is desirable as an element of the administration is focused on the database support and high volume of coordination for the curatorial aspect of the project.
The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, and a prior knowledge of large-scale project administration is highly desirable. An interest in the arts is an advantage to potential candidates, but prior administration experience is a must. Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel is a pre-requisite for all candidates; knowledge of File Maker Pro is an advantage.

North-West Community Network is the largest representative organisation in the NW for the Community & Voluntary sector.
The new Participation, Engagement & Skills Project (PESP) is a unique, hands-on project, built on solid partnership and collaborative working. It recognises the opportunities present in the North-West for communities and individuals to get involved in the decision-making processes that impact directly on their lives. It promotes and facilitates genuine user involvement.
The Network now wishes to appoint two PESP Project Officers (3 year fixed term posts) to deliver the agreed project objectives.

• Possess a third level qualification in a relevant discipline plus two years’ experience working in the Community & Voluntary sector,
OR
Five years’ experience working in the Community & Voluntary sector that includes project and budgetary responsibility.

• Demonstrable track record of budgetary responsibility.
• Proven commitment to principles of community development and equal opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, and proven organisational skills.
• Direct experience of implementing strategic and operational plans.
• Proficient in the use of a range of computer software packages.
• Established experience of managing and disseminating information.
• Knowledge and experience of working in disadvantaged areas and with disadvantaged groups.
• Knowledge and experience of implementing and applying monitoring and evaluation processes.
• Can meet the mobility requirements of the post. For example, access to a car or alternative means of transport.

About the Opportunity:
Culture Night Belfast is at this large scale, multi faceted, multi venue arts and cultural event taking place on Friday 24th September in the Cathedral Quarter and other areas of Belfast. Over 100 organisations programme free, family friendly arts and cultural events and streets are animated with music, theatre, projections and more.
Volunteers perform a vital role as the public face of Culture Night Belfast, ensuring that visitors to the event have a positive and enjoyable experience.
Volunteer roles at Culture Night include acting as information points at designated positions within the Cathedral Quarter, giving out brochures, event details, directions and advice to visitors to Culture Night. Other volunteering opportunities include Event Crew, Street Teams, Research Teams and Tour Guide Assistants, who will be responsible for tasks such as erecting event signage, moving tables & chairs, completing visitor surveys and helping out with other tasks throughout the evening.
Skills & Experience
A knowledge of culture and arts venues in Belfast would help, however, full details and maps will be provided to all volunteers.

Brief Strangford Lough Public Art Project: Talking Points - Call for Submissions - posted 24.8.2010 deadline: 4pm, 17 September 2010
The Strangford Lough and Lecale Partnership(SLLP) , in partnership with Down District Council and Ards Borough Council and as part of the Turn O’ The Tide Programme, is seeking submissions from artists, or suitably qualified and / or experienced practitioners for the placement of temporary art in highly prominent places around Strangford Lough where the public can interface with them through a visual, aural and/or tactile experience that will leave a lasting impression of, and raise questions about, the area’s biodiversity.
The aim is to use public art to present some aspect of the area’s biodiversity or geodiversity to get people thinking and talking about it. This might include presenting aspects of the Lough’s exceptional marine and terrestrial bio-diversity, geology and tidal system that come together to make the area a fascinating European nature conservation site.
Talking Points will be part of the build-up to a massive celebration event for Strangford Lough in May 2011. At the time of advertisement, the total budget available for this integrated public art project is £6,000. The emphasis is on achieving the greatest impact with the maximum number of local people and visitors and for this reason some key prominent locations have been considered though others may be suggested at the artists’ discretion.

Temple Bar Cultural Trust are looking to gather a team of well organised volunteers who would like to take part in Dublin Culture Night this year taking place on Friday 24th September. The main tasks that we will need volunteer assistance for are:
- Guides on the Culture Night buses

- Assisting stewards with the outdoor events
- Assisting at the Temple Bar Cultural Information Centre
